BIOGI is one among 15 healthy soils centres working in close partneship with the Alliance for food sovereignty in Africa [AFSA].Small holder farmers are engaged in practical farmer to farmer learning on using locally made bio inputs and bio protectors.These are also disseminated by farmers in a Training of Trainers model.
Ecological transitions
Working with champion farmers in developing active learning spaces , enables other stakeholder and even late adopters engage and start a transition journey.At BIOGI; permaculture methods such as whole farm design principles, high level integration of crops and vegetative cover such food forests are used
Seed saving and regeneration
Keeping the seed alive is a secrete of every organic producer.The unique colors,size,flavour, adaptability to local climatic conditions and the knowledge , are all too good factors to consider in saving and regenerating these resources.
